
About Oral and Maxillofacial SurgeryBefore a dentist can apply to a competitive Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency he or she has to show serious interest and skill in the surgical environment. To become an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon then requires up to 6 additional years of hospital based surgical and anesthesia training after dental school. After completing the residency program, many surgeons will then take an examination to be classified as Diplomates of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
As board certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Dr. Craig McDow DMD, MS, and Dr. Frank Dal Santo, MD, DDS manage a wide variety of problems relating to the mouth, teeth and facial regions. Both doctors practice a full scope of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery with expertise ranging from Cosmetic Facial Surgery to Corrective Jaw Surgery and Wisdom Tooth Removal. Both doctors also diagnose and treat Facial Pain, Facial Injuries and TMJ disorders, and perform a full range of Dental Implant procedures.
